visit some of the top attractions away from the beach. Discover some of
Cayman’s history when you tour Pedro St.James, relax and unwind as you stroll
through the botanic gardens or come face to face with turtles and dolphins when
you visit the Turtle Farm and Dolphin Discovery in West Bay. There is something
for everyone, so go ahead and plan your day. Make the most of your stay!
Top Five
ways to spend a day
The Cayman
Islands Tourism Association recommends:
Water - Visit Kittiwake for a snorkel or
dive with one of the licensed operators. Information can be found at
www.kittiwakecayman.com. If it's a little too windy for
such an activity you would put the wind to good use and try your hand at Kite
Surfing. And in the evening why not get up close and personal with the glowing
majesty of the bioluminescence in a kayak?
Land - A day in West Bay, mixed with
visits to Turtle Farm, Dolphin Centres, The Motor Museum and of course send a
postcard from Hell. Finish off the day with a late lunch by the water at
Macabuca.
Shopping
& Dining - Fuel
up with a simple and affordable Contemporary Caribbean breakfast at Cimboco.
Head over to Camana Bay for a range of shopping and dine at one of the
many fabulous restaurants for lunch. Head down to Georgetown in the
quieter afternoon and shop at the Duty Free Waterfront shops finishing with a
sunset cocktail over the water.
Art,
History & Culture -
Start your day in Georgetown at the National Museum, work your way through
South Sound and visit Pure Art for unique Cayman gifts and souvenirs.
Continue to the National Trust Visitors Centre for tips and brochures and
stop off at Pedro St James on your way to Bodden Town, where you can stop by
The Art Shop. Enjoy the scenic drive to East End and finish the day with
a late lunch at Miss VIvines.
Environmental - Learn about the efforts to
remove invasive species from our water and protect our marine
environment with one of the local Dive operators. Participate in a
Lionfish Hunt, followed by a sumptuous Cook-Out. An alternative for non
divers would be to snorkel and explore the mangroves with Sea Elements
