National Gallery opens at new facility
The new
National Gallery will open its doors to the public at its new location of the
Esterly Tibbets Highway. For the first time the National Collection will have a
permanent home. There will also be a space for temporary exhibition, an
education centre and landscaped gardens.

Governors, the island’s premier art event, takes place at Governors Square and
on the lawn of Government House on West Bay Road. The event is organised by the
National Gallery and is open to all.

The ultimate

Cayman Arts Festival
Celebrate
this nine day arts festival with artists including Canadian Brass, Charles
Yang, Juilliard Jazz Ensemble and the Ahn Trio. Then a finale event called a
Big Song and Dance at Pedro’s Castle with massed choirs from primary and high
schools, local dance students, and Young Musicians of the Year showcase the
young talent of Cayman, with guest Musical Director Ronald Corp. There are also
two exciting fringe events over the festival period as well.

annual Orchid Show is a joint
event hosted by both the Botanic Park and the Cayman Islands Orchid Society and
is both an exhibition of locally grown orchids and a plant sale of specially
imported orchids as well as an opportunity for gardeners to learn more about
orchid growing.
NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tournament
Thirty-two
teams will compete in the annual two-day event, held on Public Beach on West
Bay Road. The prize fund for the event is US$10,000.
