the pleasure of good food made from local ingredients with a commitment to
community and the environment. When James Beard award-winning chef Michael
Schwartz opened Michael's Genuine Food & Drink in Grand Cayman in June 2010,
his mission was to provide Caymanians as well as visitors to Camana Bay with a
taste of the fresh, simple, pure and sustainable cuisine that has made his
Miami Design District restaurant one of the hottest dining destinations in the
United States. Schwartz and Slow Food Grand Cayman soon launched a monthly Farm
to Table Dinner series to further support and grow the local economy by
prominently featuring ingredients from local producers. Meet Slow Food Day, the
natural next step to bring the whole island together in a celebration of eating
locally and sourcing sustainably. A full roster of events pairing local chefs
