Hit the links at North Sound
North Sound Club, formerly the Links at Safe Haven, is Grand Cayman’s only true 18-hole championship golf course and played host to the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship in 2008.
Located on SafeHaven Drive along the Seven Mile Beach corridor, the North Sound Club course will eventually be incorporated into the private Blue Tip golf course of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman/Dragon Bay. Until this happens, visitors can still play North Sound Club.
The 6605-yard, par-71 course features lush tropical foliage and stunning views. The Roy Case-designed course has narrow fairways that require some skill, especially when dealing with the wind. There are also plenty of water hazards to contend with.
The 11th hole is a standout, a par-3 that plays directly toward the waters of North Sound and requires a carry over a pond. The most difficult hole is the par-4 fourth, a dog-leg left where the wind can easily put a ball out of bounds or into the water on the narrow fairway.
North Sound Club offers a pro shop and open-air bar with large screen TVs.
