Hollywood Calling The Cayman Islands has long been known as a top vacation spot. But now the island can add film destination to its list of credits. A number of movies have recently used Cayman as their backdrop, putting our sandy beaches and pristine waters in the international spotlight. Zombie Driftwood, described as a “low-budget” zombie B movie” by the filmmaker Bob Carruthers, was shot at Driftwood Bar in North Side. Caymanian actor-turned-director Timothy Kelly has also placed the spotlight on the islands in Waking The Sea. The film, set in both New York City and Grand Cayman, follows the story of Charles, a Wall Street executive, who returns to Cayman after a 10-year absence and reunites with his first love, Lena. So watch out for Cayman, coming soon to a cinema near you.
